Why make a will?
If you do not make a will
- There can be long delays in settling your estate.
- Your spouse may not get everything.
- If you are not married, your partner may get nothing at all.
- The court will appoint a guardian for your children.
- You cannot protect your home from care fees.
- Children of your first marriage will not necessarily be protected.
- Disabled children may not be properly looked after.
- You may lose the chance to save inheritance tax.
