If you do not make a will

  • There can be long delays in settling your estate.
  • Your spouse may not get everything.
  • If you are not married, your partner may get nothing at all.
  • The court will appoint a guardian for your children.
  • You cannot protect your home from care fees.
  • Children of your first marriage will not necessarily be protected.
  • Disabled children may not be properly looked after.
  • You may lose the chance to save inheritance tax.
